on board transit vehicles equipped with the RoadShow system
are set to gain more health knowledge as RoadShow begins broadcasting
a new programme series produced by the Health InfoWorld of
the Hospital Authority.
From the coming Sunday (12 August) on, a 10-episode
health promotion programme series titled "Health InfoWorld"
will be broadcast for the first time on all the 2,100 transit
vehicles equipped with the RoadShow system.
Each episode of the series, featuring such
hosts as Jacky Cheung, Nat Chan and Do Do Cheng, focuses
on the causes, prevention and treatment of a disease commonly
known in Hong Kong. Health care professionals of the Hospital
Authority also appear in the series to offer expert health
advice. Each episode will be run every Sunday and Tuesday
on RoadShow.
Speaking at a press conference today (Tuesday,
7August) announcing the new programme series on RoadShow,
Steering Committee Member of Health InfoWorld Mrs Alice
Chiu said she was glad to see the programme reaching out
to more people in need of health knowledge.
Mrs Chiu said, "Hong Kong people are
always working very hard. Sometimes they work too hard to
look after their own health. As we always emphasis community
partnership in health promotion, we hope that the showing
of this programmes series will help the general public gain
more health knowledge to take responsibility of their own
health.
"We are very happy to see that RoadShow
is joining other civic minded organisations in Hong Kong
to partner with the Health InfoWorld in contributing to
the betterment of the community."
RoadShow's Chief Programme Officer Mr Eric
Yeung said the broadcasting of Health InfoWorld was in line
with RoadShow's commitment of bringing entertaining programmes
and information to passengers while serving the community.
Mr Yeung said, "We believe that this
quality programme series from the Health InfoWorld of the
Hospital Authority will make passengers' vehicle journeys
more informative and enjoyable."
